Military Occupational Specialty: Unit Supply Specialist (MOS 92Y)

Duty position: 125th Cyber Protection Battalion, South Carolina Army National Guard

QUICK SKETCH:

-- Recently completed a yearlong assignment with Task Force Echo, 780th Military Intelligence Brigade (Cyber), Fort George G. Meade, Md.

-- Has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina

-- Future goal is to become a signal or cyber warrant officer and use his skill sets from military training and experience to progress to higher levels in his Army career

ON HOW HIS SECTION SUPPORTED TASK FORCE ECHO:

"My team's mission was to support operations from a logistical aspect, coordinating supplies, equipment, shipping and receiving. We also had a major role in organization of ceremonies -- location, food, setup, structure. The S-4 (logistics) section was very well organized and planned ahead of time to support the various missions. We orchestrated multiple successful events, such as, hail and farewell gatherings between the inbound and outbound task force Soldiers, awards ceremonies and the recent transition of authority ceremony."

ON LESSONS HE WILL TAKE HOME FOLLOWING HIS YEAR WITH TASK FORCE ECHO:

"I was able to use my down time and train as a cyber network defense analyst, which was a great experience and training that I can use to progress through my civilian and military careers. I am now a qualified and mid-level CND operator that my unit could use in future exercises or training environments."

ON HIS FONDEST MEMORIES OF SERVING AT FORT MEADE:

"My biggest takeaway would be the experience gained and the people I grew working relationships with."

ON WHY HE JOINED THE NATIONAL GUARD:

"I joined the National Guard because I wanted to serve my country and lend a helping hand to my community. I know this could have been done by going another route, but I just liked the military aspect of things. I've grown and learned a lot as a United States Army National Guardsman. If I could start this experience all over again, I would."
