CHIÈVRES, Belgium -- The 424th Air Base Squadron personnel gathered Nov. 18 on Chièvres Air Base, Belgium, to celebrate their teammates receiving an award from another branch of the DOD.

Senior Airman Maxwell Magiera and Tech. Sgt. Richard Poynter both received the Army Achievement medal for their selfless devotion during two overseas Memorial Day events at American cemeteries for World War II commemorations. Both Air Force personnel served as members of the U.S. Army Garrison Benelux Color Guard.

Col. Sean Hunt Kuester, garrison commander for USAG Benelux, congratulated the two airmen. "Your presence at those ceremonies adds prestige, honor and respect," he said.

Kuester also seized the opportunity to highlight the great partnership between the USAG Benelux and the 424th ABS, which located on Chièvres Air Base.

"One Team, One Benelux has a broader meaning with you, because we help each other," he concluded.
