HONOLULU - 1st Lt. Henry White, left, and 1st Lt. Kyle Rudolph, right, graduate from the Interservice Physician Assistance Program (IPAP), class 2-16, and receive a direct commission administered by Maj. Scott Hitter, center, IPAP clinical coordinator, Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), located at the TAMC Commander's Lanai, Oct. 5. Both graduates commissioned into the U.S. Army officer corps during the ceremony and earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. The mission of IPAP is to provide the uniformed services with highly competent, compassionate physician assistants who model integrity, strive for leadership excellence, and are committed to lifelong learning. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School, U.S. Army Health Readiness Center of Excellence, and has received an accreditation-continued status by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant. TAMC is one of 22 medical phase two site locations across the country that supports base rotations required to be a successful physician assistant; and focuses on education and research that enables its staff to offer the most advanced care, services and technology in delivering health care.
