Sgt. Maj. Keith N. Taylor is a native of Los Angeles, California and was born on April 6, 1967. He entered the U.S. Army on October 13, 1987, and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advance Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia, where he graduated as a 72E Telecommunications System Operator.

Sgt. Maj. Taylor recently served as the G-6 Sgt. Maj. for 21st Theater Sustainment Command Kaiserslautern, Germany. He has served in numerous leadership positions from Squad Leader to Sgt. Maj.

Sgt. Maj. Taylor's military and civilian education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (Leadership Award), Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Basic Recruiters Course, First Sergeant Course, Force Management Course, Signal Pre- Command Course, Battalion Pre-Command Course and United States Army Sergeants Majors Academy (Class 61). He has an Associate's Degree in General Studies from Pikes Peak Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management from Franklin University and a Master's Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (9th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, NATO Service Ribbon, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Superior Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Gold Recruiter Badge, Gold German Schutzenschnur Badge and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. Sgt. Maj. Taylor also received the Bronze Order of Mercury and the Honorable Saint Barbara's Award.

Sgt. Maj. Taylor has been married to his wife, Susanne Taylor, for 25 years, and they have one daughter, Tatijana, who attends Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They reside in Laurel, Maryland.
