USAG-YONGSAN, SEOUL, Korea -- Soldiers from C Company, 121st Combat Support Hospital conducted medical evacuation training in coordination with C Company, 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division July 12 at USAG-Yongsan heliport.

Detailed instruction was provided by Sgt. Russell Darrah, behavioral health technician, C Co., 121st CSH, followed by dry runs of loading and transporting litter patients. The training was designed to improve skills to properly hand off patients while preventing further injury when loading and transporting patients.

The training event also allowed the medics to familiarize themselves with the safe use of the Army MEDEVAC UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. The Soldiers practiced combat casualty care, 9-Line, transporting litter patients, cold/hot load and unload on the UH-60.

"Soldiers were able to gain knowledge and experience how to safely transport patients from and to the MEDEVAC helicopter" said Capt. Han K. Lee, C Co., 121st CSH commander. "I'm confident that this gave insights to the medics on how to support the mission in both combat and non-combat situations."
