FORT RUCKER, Ala. (July 10, 2018) - Brig. Gen. Timothy J. Daugherty assumed command of the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center July 10 during a ceremony at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
Lt. Gen. Joseph M. Martin, director of the Army Staff, presided over the event.
Martin emphasized the importance of keeping Soldiers and civilians safe and ready as they train to deploy to the most dangerous places on earth.
"TD (Daugherty) assumes command today at a remarkable time for the USACRC," Martin said. "The expertise and professionalism of this command is, without question, critical for our Army. All of his experiences have uniquely prepared him for his role as commander of the USACRC."
Daugherty most recently served as deputy chief of staff, G3, U.S. Army Europe.
"It's surreal to be here in Alabama," he said. "I've always had an affinity for safety and I'm very proud to be in an organization that's centered on sustaining greatness, not losing greatness."
Daugherty is a native of Alabama and received his commission from Jacksonville State University.
