ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill.-- Gen. Gus Perna, Commanding General, Army Materiel Command, recognized three Joint Munitions Command staff members during his recent visit to the Rock Island Arsenal on March 21.
Brig. Gen. Heidi Hoyle, commander, Joint Munitions Command, introduced the three awardees and explained how their efforts were benefiting the Army's ammo enterprise. Each teammate received an AMC coin from Gen. Perna.
George, DuBois, Logistics Management Specialist, recently supported the execution and synchronization of To-Accompany-Troop and mobilization training ammunition for all continuous United States Mobilization Force Installation Power Projection Platform sites.
"Participating and accomplishing this strategic objective really highlights the role the Centralized Ammo Management Team plays in arming and sustaining the force," said DuBois. "What we do really does matter in the munitions enterprise."
Bryan Arensdorff, JMC TAS Project Manager, recently led the Transformation and Synchronization effort at JMC Headquarters. His efforts encompassed the identification of key cultural barriers and defined the desired culture and translating those into desired organizational practices. In addition he developed a management system with leadership development.
"Our transformation initiative is focused on improving organizational processes and output in support of Warfighter ammunition needs," said Arensdorff. "We have much left to accomplish as we continue our pursuits within our logistics network."
Chad Rhoades, general engineer, recently worked modernization investments and assures readiness concerns are addressed with consistent messaging from all levels. He believes it is an important effort.
"Working with the installations to identify modernization and sustainment investments is an extremely fulfilling opportunity," said Rhoades.
JMC produces small-, medium- and large-caliber ammunition items for the Department of Defense. JMC is the logistics integrator for life-cycle management of ammunition and provides a global presence of technical support to U.S. combat units wherever they are stationed or deployed. The primary mission of JMC is to manage the production, storage, issue, and demilitarization of conventional ammunition for all U.S. Military Services.
