FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. -- Service members and families can now get practical help focusing on the spiritual and clinical aspects of combat trauma recovery every Wednesday from 5:30-8 p.m. through May 9, at the main post chapel.

"Reboot, Combat Recovery," is a combat trauma healing course that uses a blend of clinical and faith-based support for combat veterans and their loved ones seeking answers to questions about life, death, meaning, and purpose, according to the rebootrecovery.com website.

"There is wellness, physically, and there is wellness, spiritually," said General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital Chaplain, Capt. Luis Anda. "There is that physical wound that we can see many times but then there is the wound from combat that you cannot see and that's the soul wound, the moral wound."

The course covers topics such as "Roots of Trauma," "Depression and Suicide," and "The Cost of Unforgiveness."

"Sometimes making a decision in combat, seeing your loves ones--your brothers and sisters in arms whose lives were taken in combat--that leaves a wound, a scar, that is not very visual. This class, Reboot, Combat Recovery, helps to explore those wounds," Anda said.

To attend, call Chaplain Anda at (270) 985-8764 or email luis.n.anda.mil@mail.mil.
