TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT, Pa. -- From left, Dan Harnden and depot retiree Les Sharp help Chrissy McNeice and her son Dan Burian place an engraved stone at Tobyhanna Army Depot's POW/MIA Memorial honoring her father, Robert "Mac" McNeice, who died two years ago.

McNeice served in the Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. By placing the stone, Chrissy was able to fulfill her father's wishes. Before he died, he'd mentioned having "gone for a beer, be right back" inscribed on his headstone, she explained.

The national cemetery where McNeice was buried was unable to grant their request based on rules outlining authorized inscriptions. A chance meeting with Harnden this summer revealed a way for Chrissy to finally do what her father had asked.

Harnden and Sharp are Army veterans and members of the Tobyhanna Army Depot Veterans Council. Team Tobyhanna recognized the memorial's 10th anniversary earlier this year with a ceremony.

Tobyhanna Army Depot is a recognized leader in providing world-class logistics support for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems across the Department of Defense. About 3,200 personnel are employed at Tobyhanna, which is located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania.
