Almost 90 Soldiers, Family members, retirees, veterans, DA civilians and contractors from 22 different schools were given the opportunity to enjoy the pomp and circumstance of a traditional college graduation at Waybur Theater Nov. 16.

Hosted by the Fort Knox Education Center, the 2nd annual Fort Knox College Graduation Ceremony featured guest speaker Maj. Gen. Chris Hughes, commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command

and Fort Knox. He lauded the graduates' efforts and praised event coordinators.

"Last year was the first, this is the second, and now it is a Fort Knox tradition," Hughes said.

The graduates included two Cadet Command employees, Joseph Cross and John Gregory, who earned their doctoral degrees in Manage-ment and Organi-zational Leader-ship and Philosophy in Public Policy and Administration respectively. Three married couples, a graduate who traveled from South Carolina to attend the ceremony, and a group of Western Kentucky University ROTC cadets from Bowling Green, Kentucky, also were awarded their degrees.

Dr. Pamela Raymer, chief of Headquarters, Army Continuing Education Division, delivered the opening remarks after being welcomed by Deputy Garrison Com-mander Emmet Holley. Chaplain (Col.) David Vander- jagt provided the invocation, Gale Crocker sang the National Anthem, and 100th Army Band performed. Organizers provided a large reception at the Education Center following the graduation and gave each graduate a video and photos of the event.
