Soldiers in Training with 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment are past the halfway point of Basic Combat Training and are nearing the culminating event of Victory Forge. In week seven, the Centennial Battalion concentrated on navigating the Omaha buddy team range, prepping for their field training exercise and learning how to use hand grenades effectively.
At the Remagen Hand Grenade Qualification Range, SiTs moved in two-man assault teams through a lane dotted with obstacles and enemy positions. As each team Soldier moved forward they called out to their battle buddies to cover them. Once close enough to an enemy position, the Soldiers pulled the pins on their grenades and with a hard, high and overhead throw would fling the munitions at the enemy.
