WIESBADEN, Germany - A continuous flow of service members, civilians and family members underscored the wide-spread interest in jobs and careers at the Wiesbaden Entertainment Center March 24.

With representatives of more than 40 employers, educational institutions and other agencies on hand at the Wiesbaden Career Fair, visitors had the ideal opportunity to network, pick up valuable information and to learn about potential paying and volunteer employment.

The fair was hosted by Army Community Service's Employment Readiness Program.

"We do this annually to encourage family members who aren't working to come out and see what's available," said Lewis Boatner, Employment Readiness Program manager. "Too many times we have family members come over here who aren't happy because they aren't working."

While employment and careers were the primary focus, Boatner explained that community members could also find a wealth of information about keeping up and developing skills during volunteer work throughout the community.

"We also have a variety of volunteer opportunities that can help people get jobs in the future," Boatner said.

"We want to improve the family members' quality of life to make them feel like they belong," he said.

Boatner added that the fair was open to everyone.

"We encouraged service members to come through because there are a lot of skill sets represented. We want to keep them engaged (when they leave the military) in their passions."

Agencies represented ranged from the Exchange to CACI International, Inc.; Booz Allen Hamilton to Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The military services were also represented.

The Employment Readiness Program manager pointed out that everyone can take advantage of the program's regular free classes such as the Resume, USAJobs, interviewing and dressing for success classes.

"We're here to assist. If they need it, we can make it happen for them," Boatner said.
