USAG YONGSAN -- United States Army Garrison Yongsan's Pet Care Center, located near Gate 12, reopened Dec. 5, after two months of renovation work to address hygiene and safety issues.

"The major differences after the renovation are new floor tiles in each boarding kennel, new drainage to help improve odor control, a new yard with grass and a newly installed fence that surrounds the entire building for safety, security and hygiene reasons," said Gina Nam, project manager for the Pet Care Center.

Now at its peak condition, the Pet Care Center is ready to implement diverse programs and offer activities that ensure the highest quality of life for all domestic pets, said Nam. The center also plans to provide pet training services.

"We currently provide services such as pet boarding, dog grooming, free consultations on pet travel, pet taxi, international pet transportation, import pet clearance, pet quarantine arrangements and pet supplies," she said. For the future, the center will look at all levels of pet training classes and pet chauffer service, as well as outside activities and overnight programs for both pets and their owners to enjoy together, she added.

Reservations at the Pet Care Center can be made up to two months in advance. New customers must fill out a registration form and pay a deposit. Registered customers will have their information on file for enhanced convenience when rebooking. Grooming appointments, however, are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
