The Warrior Care and Transition Program (WCTP) Compliance and Oversight Directorate held its second Human Resources Training Summit at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) from July 26-29.

31 HR professionals from the 14 enduring Warrior Transition Units (WTUs) and three Warrior Transition Offices (WTOs) as well as observers from Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs), MEDCOM, Regional Health Command - Central (RHC-C), and the Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S) participated in the training summit.

The training was designed to improve and standardize the HR support and address shortcomings identified by the WTU Organizational Inspection Program (OIP) and was delivered through classroom, hands-on exercises, and a capstone event.

Trainers included subject matter experts from MEDCOM (Barbara Hebron, Keith Logan, Sgt. 1st Class Kimberly Cheatham, and Eric Custard), RHC-C (Ravon Woods), National Guard and Reserve (Col. Steven Owens, Col. Diana Craun, Lt. Col. Mary Tomko, Lt. Col. John Evan, and Master Sgt. Karai Mays), WCTP Compliance and Oversight Directorate (Col. Amy Brinson and Maj. Gabi Crousillac), and the Soldier in Transition Division (Louis Perry, Eric Boone, Charles Williams, and Jamie Keel).

The WTU military and civilian HR professionals shared that they felt better trained, more informed, and more resilient to continue to perform their duties within the unique WCTP environment. The training summit guest speaker was Dr. Rick G. Dickinson.
