On Wednesday May 11, at the Fort Leavenworth Chapel, Munson Army Health Center recognized 30 civilian employees into the U.S. Army Medical Department Regiment during a formal ceremony. Each new affiliated employee received a certificate to show their loyalty and commitment to the AMEDD regiment. A formal invitation is extended by the Surgeon General to all military and civilians who are within the US Army Medical Department.

Ms. Wanda Sanborn, who has worked for Munson since 1982, was one of the employees recognized. Ms. Sanborn said "I have been here so long and have always been committed to this organization, but this is the next step to formally commit." Affiliation to the AMEDD Regiment fosters a sense of belonging to the team.

Munson has affiliated 118 civilians since 2013 and continues to encourage new employees to elect to affiliate with the AMEDD Regiment. COL David Cassella, Commander of Munson Army Health Center, stated "This program is a great way for the AMEDD to recognize commitment and dedication from a vital element of our workforce."

AMEDD Civilians continue to take on positions of increased responsibility with greater leadership roles. This affiliation supports the AMEDD civilian corps vision and mission. "All Munson civilian employees may elect to affiliate with the AMEDD Regiment and I encourage them to do so. Affiliating with our AMEDD Soldiers will improve camaraderie and therefore strengthen our Army Medicine Team." added COL Cassella.
