WARSAW, Poland - Polish Forces, along with U.S. Army Europe and the 364th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, celebrated Polish Veteran's Day in honor of all military veterans who served in all wars on May 28, 2016.
This commemoration event has been a combined Mayor Cells-Polish working project. During this planning process senior leaders from Poland, U.S. Army Europe, and the 364th ESC collectively proposed the sequence of events.
All participants jointly partook in a ceremony of remembrance which included a friendly shooting competition with Polish weapons including the KBS Beryl Rifle and the 9mm Wist Handgun.
Additionally, U.S. Army Europe and 364th ESC prepared a static displays for all veterans and their families to see, consisting of a LMTV Light Utility Truck, Humvees, fuel trucks, a rough terrain fork lift, and the M16A2 weapon system.
After the competition ended, 1st Armored Brigade provided food, drinks and a concert for the attendees.
The food reception was a perfect opportunity to break the ice with the ally and partner nations and continue enabling and enhancing our alliance and commitment within NATO.
The Polish were happy and more than willing to share their knowledge, traditions and history with new friends.
