Ustka, Poland -- Soldiers from the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command coordinated with the Polish 3rd Surface to Air Missile Brigade June 6 to conduct a multinational Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear decontamination training event.

A multinational team of Soldiers was formed to create and test standard operating procedures for decontaminating both Polish and American personnel and equipment in a CBRN environment. After days of planning and coordinating, all the nuances of conducting such a delicate procedure had been addressed and the team was prepared to test their ability to interoperate.

"we have been working very closely with the Polish 3rd SAM Brigade to coordinate this event." stated Sgt. 1st Class Bella Momoh, the 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment's CBRN Senior Noncommissioned Officer, "It will definitely test our Soldiers."

As the sun began to crest the tree line, the multinational decontamination team was called upon to decontaminate a simulated CBRN event. As the team entered the site they quickly realized that all of their prior collaboration would be tested as they were called upon to decontaminate a Patriot Enhanced Missile Launcher, a total of 20 transport vehicles, and 30 personnel from both nations.

"It was awesome working with the Polish to decontaminate the equipment!" exclaimed Spc. Michael Resly, a 74D CBRN Specialist, "I love doing my job, and getting a chance to do it with our partners was even better."

After hours of work, coordination, and communication, the multinational decontamination team successfully sterilized all of the equipment and personnel, validating all of their new multinational operating procedures.
