The USAREUR G6 Frequency Management Office (FMO) hosted three Romanian Frequency Management Soldiers on 17 March 2016 at the Mission Command Center on Clay Kaserne in Wiesbaden Germany.
United States European Command's (USEUCOM) C4 Interoperability lead; Mr. Adrian Liptrot, arranged this US/Romania C4 Development Workgroup to allow the USAREUR and Romanian frequency teams to discuss the frequency management processes that are distinctive to their offices.
SGM Samudio, USAREUR G6 SGM, also spoke with the team about signal unit structures and encouraged them to empower their Junior Enlisted Soldiers as we do in the US Army Signal Corps. One major difference between the USAREUR and Romanian teams is the personnel structure.
Signal Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 25E Frequency Manager is a critical MOS held by Staff Sergeants thru Sergeant Major (SGM). In the International community this skill is frequently held by Officers as many nations do not empower their Enlisted Soldiers like the U.S. Military.
So it was not surprising that the visiting Romanian team consisted of a Major, a Warrant Officer and a SGM. The discussions allowed our NCOs to show the Romanian team just how professional and technical our NCO Corps can be. A significant event of the day was being able to show the Romanian team a Change of Responsibility ceremony.
The team took copious notes will hopefully make it back to their NCOs for adaptation into ceremonial events. The USAREUR G6 continues to support strengthening alliances and building partner capacity and capability as it is one of USAREUR's key contributions to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and USEUCOM.
