SEMBACH, Germany - 409th Contracting Support Brigade welcomed a new Command Sgt. Maj. during a change of responsibility ceremony here.

Command Sgt. Maj. Rocky L. Carr, assumed responsibility from Command Sgt. Maj. Leatrice Person during a change of responsibility ceremony at Sembach Gym Feb. 11.

Col. Douglas Lowrey, 409th CSB commander, presided over the ceremony and took the opportunity to thank and bid farewell to the outgoing CSM while welcoming the new one.

"Command Sgt. Maj. Person, you will be sorely missed but I predict you will be back in the contracting field in no time. Goodspeed and our paths will cross again. Command Sgt. Maj. Carr, I can guarantee you this command will be like no other and it will be the most rewarding as you work hand in hand with dedicated Soldiers, civilians and our local national workforce. You have my complete faith and confidence and I know you will excel," said Lowrey.

Carr thanked his family, the command and expressed his enthusiasm for joining the 409th CSB. "I look forward to the challenges that lay ahead with the comfort of knowing we have an awesome team" said Carr.

Carr enlisted in the Army in 1991. He has served in a number of oversea' s positions including two tours to Germany, two tours to Bosnia, a tour to Kuwait and two tours to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
