ARLINGTON, Va. (Feb. 10, 2016) -- The Office of Business Transformation hosted the Acting Secretary of the Army Patrick J. Murphy and 30 senior Army leaders, Jan. 28, at the Rand Arroyo Center for the first Army Senior Leader Business Seminar. The purpose of the seminar was to provide a forum, which senior leaders could examine and openly discuss important topics impacting leadership, the management of Army business operations and business system information technology. The Army will use seminar insights to improve performance within the Business Mission Area of responsibility.

Discussion focused on the necessity for consolidation and improvement of IT systems and the ever-increasing proliferation of data between the current Army mindset, which requires centralized and structured processes against the requirement for decentralized and agile responsiveness required by the threat environment. Acting Secretary of the Army Patrick J. Murphy, stressed the role that business leaders play in contributing to the readiness of the force.
