The 3-8 Cav. Reg. demonstrated how the M1A2 Abrams tank and M2A3 Bradley train by using simulators at the Close Combat Tactical Trainer.
"We brought our Washington, D.C.-based foreign military attachés on these trips to provide an appreciation of how our Army works, to expose them to our history and culture, and develop partnerships," said Maj. Seth Kozak, a foreign liaison officer with the U.S. Army. "The units we are visiting organized their events in a way that would give the military attachés an opportunity to observe, get some hands on training and provide a Q&A forum."
The "Chaos" company had its combat vehicle crews split amongst the simulators ready to brief, demonstrate and train the foreign military representatives. The attachés asked the crewmembers questions about operating the vehicles and their roles on the team.
"We talked about how we work together against opposing forces," said Sgt. Dylan Hulme, a Colorado City, Texas native and tank gunner for the battalion. "Also how we develop better battle positions on the move."
Some of the visitors slid into tank driver seat to get a glimpse into how it might feel to operate the Abrams, while others would sit and others explored training scenarios.
"I learned how the crews communicate in the tanks; the gunner, commander and so on," said Col. Karol Sobczyk, the military attaché from the Czech Republic. "I am very familiar with U.S. Troops. We are constantly training with them in Europe."
In short, Greywolf troopers gave the attachés a grand equipment tour and displayed how well trained they are.
"I am very happy with the hospitality and the friendship," said Col. Karel Schuch, the military attaché from the Czech Republic. "I enjoyed visiting the this huge installation and seeing a lot of equipment."
