Leinberger meets Darby Community

LIVORNO -- Darby Military Community's new Deputy Garrison Manager David Leinberger introduced himself and defined his expectations in a town hall meeting held at the post theater here Sept. 24.

Leinberger introduced himself as a coffee drinker, family man and a bicycle rider who, in between of all these roles, works as a manager taking care of people, resources and real property.

Immediately following the introduction, U.S. Army Garrison Italy Deputy Garrison Commander Wesley Leisinger made an official announcement of a reduction in force in 24 positions of host nation employees. However, Leinberger assured the community that the installation is not going anywhere.

"Camp Darby is not going away," said Leinberger. "We need to care and keep our environment clean and maintain our professional, positive attitudes."

Leinberger talked about successful people and how he approaches life in a positive way.

"Successful people compliment others, they don't criticize, they don't fear changes, they embrace them. Successful people talk about ideas, they don't talk about people, they set goals and develop life plans. My job here is to be the steward of resources -- for people, time and money," said Leinberger.
