SIAULIAI, Lithuania -- 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group participated in Jackal Stone, a nine-day exercise at Radviliskis Training Area in central Lithuania starting August 15.
This annual multinational special operations exercise provided a new experience for eight Task Force Stilwell transportation coordination specialists in Lithuania who worked with the Special Forces' forward support company to move their personnel and equipment.
Task Force Stilwell's 1177th Movement Control Team in Lithuania, led by 2nd Lt. David Golonka, received 80 passengers and more than 30 tons of cargo, and transported the Special Forces communications personnel to the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania.
"The professionalism and technical proficiency of these eight Soldiers allowed for the rapid movement of personnel and cargo throughout Task Force Stilwell's area of responsibility," said Golonka. "Stilwell Soldiers worked hand and hand with 1-10th Special Forces' Group forward support company to facilitate the movement of supply."
Task Force Stilwell Soldiers had a unique opportunity to interact with one of the Army's elite units and provided a notable performance on behalf of sustainment operations in Atlantic Resolve-North while sustaining a Strong Europe.
"I am grateful for the support and assistance they rendered to the unit. Because of them we were able to accomplish our mission," said Lt. Col. Scott, of the Special Forces Group. "Their professionalism and exceptional attention to detail enabled this mission to be a success."
