ANSBACH, Germany (Sept. 21, 2015) -- Because September is Suicide Prevention Month across the Army, the USAG Ansbach Suicide Prevention Program Manager held a poetry and essay writing contest during the month of August and is recognizing three of the participants.
Garrison community members were asked to express their feelings and thoughts through creative writing related to the theme "In what way has a suicide or suicidal behavior impacted your life."
Three entries stood out: An essay by Staff Sgt. Miguel Alamo, and poems by Mary Leonhart and Warrant Officer Terry Flood.
These individuals are scheduled to be recognized and presented with certificates of achievement in conjunction with the Suicide Prevention Awareness 3K Walk/Run scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Sept. 25.
