HONOLULU -- The Regional Health Command-Pacific (RHC-P) held their annual Best Medic Competition, here, September 15-17, 2015. The competitors represented units from throughout the RHC-P in hopes of being selected as the Top 2 candidates who will go on to represent the RHC-P during the United States Army Medical Command's (MEDCOM) Command Sgt. Maj. Jack L. Clark Best Medic Competition, to be held October 28-30, 2015 at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA).

The candidates, who competed this week, where: Sgt. First Class Timothy Gillinger from United States Army Medical Department Activity (USA MEDDAC)-Japan, Staff Sgt. Daniel Bowles from the United States Army Health Clinic-Schofield Barracks (USAHC-SB), Sgt. Cory Bell from Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), SGT Cory Glasgow from the USAHC-SB, Sgt. Graham Sharp from TAMC, and Sgt. Eric Smith from USA MEDDAC-Japan.

During the competition the candidates participated in a Physical Fitness Assessment, an Obstacle Course, both Day and Night Land Navigation courses, a Combat Trauma Lane, a Stress Shoot (with M16 rifle & M9 pistol), a Written Exam, and a 12 Mile Forced Road March (carrying 35 pounds of equipment).

Throughout the three day event the candidates where faced with many physical and mental challenges which were designed to determine who the best of the best really was.

After three long days and nights, filled with as much support as rivalry, all the smoke and dust of competition finally settled and there were only two that could move forward; those two are SGT Cory Bell, TAMC, and SGT Cory Glasgow, USAHC-SB.

Congratulations to both Bell and Glasgow on their victories and best of luck as they move forward and represent RHC-P at the MEDCOM level.
