FORT HOOD, Texas - Nearly 300 Soldiers with 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division returned here June 5 from their nine monthlong deployment to South Korea.

As the Soldiers landed at Robert Gray Army Airfield on West Fort Hood, families and friends filled the seats at Cooper Field. Children ran around and danced as music played and members of the United Service Organizations handed out snacks and drinks.

Once the returning Soldiers arrived and formed up on the field, the families and friends spotted their Soldiers in the formation and welcomed them home with hugs, kisses and tears.

The rest of the 3-8 Cavalry Troopers are expected to redeploy from South Korea during the next week.
