ANSBACH, Germany (May 5, 2015) -- There has been a large number of reports of residents keeping barbecue grills on their balconies on post in Army Family Housing. If you are a resident who is simply storing them there (although balconies should not be used for storage), we can live with that. If you are actively grilling on the balcony, however, this is a serious problem.

At a minimum, you are violating housing policy (Page 31 of the Family Housing Handbook and Resident's Guide). Moreover, you are putting your Family and the Families of others at risk of injury or death in the event of a fire.

Officials at Army Family Housing are going to ask both the building coordinators and the Directorate of Emergency Services to enforce this policy and ensure its compliance. If you choose to ignore this policy and are caught grilling on your balcony, you should be prepared to deal with the consequences of your actions.
