Work did not cease at the 837th Transportation Battalion's home port of Pier 8 in Busan, South Korea, just so the battalion could help stand up the Combined Seaport Coordination Center for Key Resolve.
While standing up the CSCC and conducting battle handover to the 599th Transportation Brigade, the 837th also led a port operation March 5-9 on the USNS Pfc. Eugene A. Obregon in support of the Korean leg of Pacific Pathways 2015 deployment.
In a combined effort, the 837th, 25th Infantry Division's 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, and U.S. Forces Korea's logistical strategic partners safely downloaded, staged and moved more than 300 pieces of cargo to key locations across the Korean peninsula in record time.
All aircraft were assembled, fueled and flown from Pier 8 at the same time as rolling stock and containers were loaded and moved via commercial line-haul.
"My battalion is here for one purpose, that's to ensure the war fighters have everything they need to sustain the fight. We don't say no; we say let's find a way," said Lt. Col. Angela Hutcherson, 837th commander.
According to a U.S. Forces Korea press release, Foal Eagle is a series of joint and combined field training exercises conducted by Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea component commands spanning ground, air, naval, and special operations.
