FORT BRAGG, N.C.--Lt. Gen. Joseph Anderson led his Soldiers of the XVIII Airborne Corps on a final run as their commander, here, March 26.

Anderson, who assumed command in July 2013, and will relinquish command of the Corps later this Spring, has led the Corps through a period of continual change and repeated deployments.

Deploying to Afghanistan in January 2014, the XVIII Airborne Corps headquarters assumed the core role as the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command headquarters, closing the unit at the conclusion of NATO's combat mission in December 2014.

Units participating in the run comprise the core expeditionary capability of the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, including the 20th Engineer Brigade, the 16th Military Police Brigade, the 82nd Sustainment Brigade, the 44th Medical Brigade, the 525 Military Intelligence Brigade, the 18th Field Artillery Brigade and the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade.
