CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait -- Washington Redskins cheerleaders, along with two former National Football League players, paid a unique visit to the 402nd Army Field Support Brigade here recently.

The players and cheerleaders were part of the Armed Forces Entertainment's 49th Armed Forces Tour. The purpose of their visit was to increase Soldiers' morale and perform a show for Camp Arifjan, however, due to the fast tempo of the tour, the NFL group was getting a little low on clean clothes.

Members of the 402nd AFSB team overheard their troubles and brought the issue to the attention of the command. The command team responded by permitting the visitors to use the brigade's laundry facilities, allowing them to complete their laundry while staying on Camp Arifjan. As a thanks for the hospitality, the group made a special stop at the 402nd AFSB headquarters for an exclusive meet and greet.

"It is always a great experience to meet and entertain the troops who are sacrificing so much for our country," said Matt Hatchette, a former Vikings, Jets and Jaguars player. "We really appreciate what you do on a daily basis."

Hatchette provided a signed Minnesota Vikings cap to Master Sgt. Kevin Schoenbauer, 402nd AFSB support operations noncommissioned officer in charge, and longtime Vikings fan.

"It was a unique experience getting to meet with a former Viking while deployed," Schoenbauer said. "As a fan, it is always great to get signed memorabilia."

Later that evening, the cheerleaders performed dance routines and mingled alongside the players and troops at the Zone 6 Morale, Welfare, and Recreation stage. Members of the 402nd AFSB team took photos with the cheerleaders and players with many receiving signed posters.

"This is one of those moments that you remember for a long time and one you have to get pictures of or else no one will believe you," Schoenbauer said.

The other former NFL player who participated in the tour was Isaac Keys, former Vikings and Cardinals player.
