BOSTON, Mass. (Sept. 12, 2014) -- Bostonians and visitors from all over the nation cheered this morning as the Soldiers of the U.S. Army Military District of Washington performed 'Spirit of America', a highly visual, live-action U.S. Army show at TD Garden in Boston. Another show is scheduled for tonight, and two more tomorrow.

Performed by America's Soldiers, Spirit of America captures the true stories of those who have answered the call to duty for our nation and pays tribute to the sacrifices and triumphs of the American Soldier.

During the shows, Soldiers in historical uniforms re-enact key moments in the U.S. Army and American history. The re-enactments include battle scenes with short periods of simulated gunfire and performances by the Army's elite ceremonial units.

The show features the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" and Soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army. Elements of The Old Guard include The U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, the Caisson Platoon, the Commander-in-Chief's Guard, the Continental Color Guard and the U.S. Army Drill Team.

Two more Spirit of America performance weekends are scheduled, September 19 and 20 at the Times Union Center, Albany, N.Y. and September 26 and 27 at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pa.
