IMCOM Central Region Command Sgt. Maj. Mark Moore presented an employee with an award for excellent customer service and visited several organizations during his visit to White Sands Missile Range Aug. 19 and 20.

Moore said he wanted to see how everyone was doing at WSMR and how the region can support with any issues. This is the second visit a representative from the IMCOM Central region has made to WSMR within the last year. Moore oversees 27 different installations.

During his visit, Moore met with the Geraldine Bustos, WSMR Outdoor Recreation specialist and awarded her a coin for great outstanding leadership for FMWR. Bustos was also recognized during the last Garrison All Hands for her exceptional customer service.

"I think Geraldine represents what we strive to have IMCOM employees project. She understands customer service and that making someone smile doesn't cost a cent," Moore said.

Moore also visited Bell Gym, the Safety office, DPTMS, PAIO, and McAfee. He said the gym construction looked to be on track, which he said makes him feel like he is doing well in his support role. He also said he may be able to assist in expanding the RV Park for WSMR residents.

The WSMR Fire Department received special recognition from Moore for their recent award for medium IMCOM Fire Department of the year. WSMR Garrison Commander Col. Brian Michelson unveiled a plaque with the fire department's award during Moore's visit. Moore took the time to individually congratulate WSMR Fire Department employees for their accomplishment.
