WASHINGTON (July 22, 2014) -- The U.S. Army Military District of Washington's Staff Judge Advocate office welcomed one Soldier and said goodbye to two others during a ceremony hosted by Col. James R. Agar, MDW staff judge advocate, held at Fort Lesley J. McNair.

The command welcomed Capt. Calvin A. Leipold III, former 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) judge advocate to the MDW SJA team as the senior trial counsel. Leipold received the Army Achievement Medal for his earlier support to MDW as a subject matter expert and spokesperson during a recent manpower intensive high-profile court martial.

The command said farewell to Capt. Michelle E. Borgnino, MDW SJA special victim prosecutor, who received the Army Commendation Medal for her technical expertise, leadership and organizational skills for the past two years. Borgnino will head to Charlottesville, Va. for her follow on assignment.

The command also said farewell to Spc. Brandy C. Reid, MDW SJA paralegal, who received an Army Commendation Medal for her efforts that ensured all Units were informed and updated throughout the legal process for the past two years. Reid will be leaving the U.S. Army to pursue a career in interior design.
