ANSBACH, Germany (Dec. 5, 2013) -- U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach held a tree-lighting ceremony at Bismarck Kaserne Dec. 4. The event included a visit by Santa, a choir performance, warm refreshments, recognition of two outstanding families of the USAG Ansbach community, and the lighting of the tree.
After the event, the crowd moved to the Von Steuben Community Center where children got an opportunity to talk to Santa Claus and community members listened to the Ansbach High School band, ate and socialized.
USAG Ansbach will also hold a tree-lighting ceremony Dec. 6 at the Pedestrian Zone at Storck Barracks. The event begins at 6 p.m. There will be remarks, children singing, the announcement of the Military Family Contest winner, Santa Claus lighting the trees, caroling, food, and photos with Santa.
