FORT RUCKER, Ala. (Nov. 25, 2013) - This season of thanks is especially poignant after our Army's safest year on record. Due to your hard work and commitment to safety, more Soldiers are enjoying time with Family and friends at Thanksgiving tables around the world. As you celebrate the holiday, we ask that you also reflect on the importance of this historic achievement. Each of you played a vital role in it, and working together, we will continue the tradition of professionalism and excellence.

Staying proactive is one of the cornerstones of personal safety. Apply the risk management process to your holiday plans to see if they meet the standard. Treating safety as an imperative in all our activities, not just what we do on duty, ensures we are here to enjoy many more Thanksgiving memories.

However you spend your holiday, please know that we appreciate what you do every day for our Army and our nation. Our thoughts are especially with those of you serving in harm's way far from loved ones and home. Wherever you may be, we wish each of you a blessed and safe Thanksgiving!

Army Safe is Army Strong!
