FORT GORDON, Ga. -- The non-commissioned officers of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center inducted the newest member of the Fort Gordon Sergeant Audie Murphy Club on Friday, Sept. 9, in the hospital auditorium.

Staff Sgt. Ronnie D. Mullins was welcomed in to the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and presented with the club medallion during a ceremony that included all active SAMC members throughout the medical center.

"It is an honor to become a member of such an elite organization. It has been a challenging process and there were many hours spent studying and preparing for the board but it is worth it." said Mullins.

Mullins entered the U.S. Army in 2005 and is currently the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Patient Administration at DDEAMC. He volunteers to teach ASVAB improvement courses on the installation and has earned a master's degree of Science in Health Science from Trident University and a bachelor's of science in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Houston.

The Sergeant Audie Murphy Club a private organization for enlisted Soldiers and noncommissioned officers in the U.S. Army who demonstrate leadership abilities and performance and exemplify selfless service and concern for the training, development, and welfare of Soldiers and their families.

"The club was established in 1986 at Fort Hood, Texas by a group of officers and enlisted Soldiers who recognized that there are a few Soldiers and NCOs who go above and beyond the rest of their peers and should be recognized," said Command Sgt. Maj. Timothy Sloan of the DDEAMC Troop Command.

"After an extensive screening process coupled with a very demanding oral evaluation board, Staff Sgt. Mullins was selected to become a member of this prestigious organization."
