FORT BENNING, Ga., (Aug. 14, 2013) -- Located in the heart of historic Uptown Columbus, RiverCenter for the Performing Arts is the centerpiece of the city's arts and entertainment district. State-of-the-art facilities include the 2,000-seat Bill Heard Theatre, the 430-seat Legacy Hall and the 150-seat Studio Theater.

Over the past 11 years, the theater has hosted a variety of world-renowned performers, including classical artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Itzhak Perlman and Jessie Norman; popular entertainers such as Jerry Seinfeld, James Taylor, George Carlin and David Copperfield; international ensembles such as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Boys Choir and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields; and national touring productions of Broadway shows including Spamalot, Legally Blonde, RENT and CATS, just to name a few. Its new season begins Sept. 7 with a performance by two Broadway legends, Victoria Mallory and Kurt Peterson, in When Everything Was Possible: A Concert with Comments.

Columbus-native Victoria Mallory and Kurt Peterson met in New York in the1960s. In the summer of 1968, Victoria and Kurt were cast, from hundreds of hopefuls, by Leonard Bernstein and Richard Rodgers, as Maria and Tony in the first major revival of West Side Story at Lincoln Center. Both went on to have phenomenal careers, and their story has become Broadway legend. The concert features songs from the shows they starred in -- including Follies, On the Town and A Little Night Music.

Cirque o/ooloize Cirkopolis

Cirque o/ooloize has been creating moving performances filled with magic since 1993. Continually striving for artistic perfection, it is one of the leaders in contemporary circus arts. Cirque o/ooloize has presented more than 4,000 performances in over 436 cities and 36 countries and recently seduced Broadway with its show Rain.

In Cirkopolis the worlds of circus, dance and theatre are combined within an inventive stage design and an original musical score. Cirkopolis transports the audience between dream and reality in an uninterrupted stream of acrobatics, music, images and drawings to delight the eye.

With its sublime, ethereal and stunning interpretations of classic children's stories, Lightwire Theater has perfected the use of electroluminescent wire into a live tour de force of light, narrative and emotion. Part theater, part dance and completely unique, this live experience follows the group's breakout performance on NBC's "America's Got Talent."

The Hot Club of San Francisco

Playing what is often called gypsy jazz, the Hot Club of San Francisco has entranced audiences around the globe for more than 20 years. To hear the ensemble live is to be carried back to the 1930s to the small, smoky jazz clubs of Paris and the refined lounges of the famous Hotel Ritz. This ensemble celebrates the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli while breathing new life into their work with innovative arrangements and original compositions.

Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves -- filled with laughter, soaring emotion and roof-raising rock 'n' roll. Winner of four 2010 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and featuring a Tony-winning book by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) and a Tony-winning original score with music by Bon Jovi's founding member David Bryan. Memphis is directed by Tony-nominee Christopher Ashley (Xanadu), and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys).

Cantus Christmas 2013

The professional chorus Cantus Columbus presents Message of the Season -- Music of the Masters, assisted this year by baritone soloist Wade Thomas and a seven-piece instrumental ensemble. Conducted by William Bullock, this regularly sold-out concert recounts the Christmas story with musical masterpieces and audience carols.
