FORT HOOD -- The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command's Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Robert Ferrell, presided over the promotion to colonel of the recently-appoint director of the Central Technical Support Facility here Aug. 12.

Ferrell issued the oath of office to CTSF Director Col. Anthony Wizner as Wizner's wife and three children, along with more than 100 CTSF employees, looked on.

Wizner, who came to the CTSF as a promotable lieutenant colonel in May, officially attained the rank of colonel Aug. 1, but arranged for his promotion ceremony to coincide with a previously planned visit to the Fort Hood-based software interoperability test facility by Ferrell.

In his remarks during the promotion ceremony, Ferrell outlined Wizner's Army career, and said it was his honor to have been asked to preside over the event.

Ferrell administered the oath of office to Wisner, and watched as Wizner's wife Jennifer, and three children, Sydney, Jonathan, and Jayson all participated in the pinning of the rank.

CTSF Technical Director Lt. Col. Dererick Giles served as master of ceremonies, and the invocation and closing prayer were delivered by System Engineer Hernando Prater.

Wizner came to the CTSF from Grand Prairie, Texas, where he served as commander of the Defense Contract management Agency with Lockheed Martin. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in international history from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and earned a Master's Degree in Information Technology Management from the United States Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, Calif.

He succeeds Col. (Ret.) John Matthews.
