Favorite thing about working for the Army: Knowing I am contributing to the bigger picture; helping the Warfighter keep us safe. For most of my career, I only knew the civilian side. It wasn't until I came to SMDC that I realized how what I do effects more than just civilians. I had never worked so closely with the military; it was certainly an eye opener, but I would never want to return to an organization that was predominantly civilian. It gives me such an appreciation of what the Soldier does on a daily basis, and how we as civilians are a part of the entire picture. It truly inspires me to come into work every day, and I can honestly say that I love my job.

What made you want to work for the Army: Initially, I wanted to be closer to home (I was very young), but once I moved to an Army command, I never wanted to leave and haven't. I have worked for the Army more than 30 years, and it has been extremely rewarding. I feel like I make a difference, and at the end of the day, that's what really matters.
