Families seeking travel ideas and options during the upcoming vacation season should stop by the Leisure Travel Service office in the Fort Belvoir Community Center.

LTS offers discounted movie tickets, vacation packages, cruises and hotel booking among other travel related attractions, at reduced rates, to authorized patrons.

Active duty, retired, Reservist and National Guard military personnel, as well as Department of Defense employees, contractors and Family members, can use the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation service with a DoD or DFMWR ID.

"If you want to save this summer, LTS is the place to purchase tickets," said Yesica Morales, LTS Supervisor.

LTS sells ticket admissions to businesses in Virginia, Maryland, Florida and Washington D.C. The organization also assists with developing travel plans for trips world-wide.

As of today, DFMWR customers can purchase tickets with savings from $3 to $30 per person to places such as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, the Newseum, Six Flags, and American Multi-Cinema movie theaters.

"It's a huge savings once you start buying multiple tickets," Morales said. "It's a great opportunity for people to take advantage of savings we offer."

Deals on vacations and cruise packages include locations in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Customers seeking assistance with these packages must fill out a form at the LTS office. Afterwards, a travel agent will contact the customer and provide a quote, according to Nicole Paradiso, Fort Belvoir Community Center recreation assistant. The travel agent service is offered on a first come, first served basis.

LTS discounted movie tickets include AMC and Regal movie theatres. LTS sells the AMC Gold Tickets, which carries no restriction, at $8.50 and the AMC Silver Ticket, which carries a 10 day restriction, at $7. The 10 day restriction means patrons must wait 10 days after a movie premieres to use the ticket. LTS sells Regal tickets at $8.50.

Community members can also travel to New York, N.Y. or Atlantic City, N.J. during one of LTS's day trips. For $45 per person, Morales said customers get six hours to shop, attend plays or sightsee among other tourist attractions. The next day trip to New York is May 18 and the next trip to Atlantic City is June 15. The day trips require at least 35 participants, so people are strongly encouraged to reserve a seat as soon as possible.

The close proximity to residential villages and places of employment make LTS services ideal for the Belvoir community, Paradiso said.

"The convenience is great," Paradiso said. "Being that it's almost summer time, this is a great opportunity to set- up a cruise or other vacations."

Another option military Families should consider using is the Walt Disney World Resort and the Anheuser Busch Heroes Salute discounted ticket programs. Walt Disney World Resort provides discounted ticket packages to its theme parks and resort rooms to U.S. active, retired, National Guard and Reservist military personnel. For the Anheuser-Busch Heroes Salute program, any active duty, activated or drilling Reservist, or National Guardsman is entitled to a free one-time admission at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Water Country USA or Sesame Place for military personnel and as many as three direct dependants throughout 2013. Servicemembers seeking to use this free admission must register at the Anheuser Busch Heroes Salute website at www.herosalute.com/cavatx.

The LTS office is at the Community Center's front desk and the hours are 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
