FORT SILL, Okla.-- Although it was part of the Virtual Reality Tour, Brad Paisley showed up in real life to rock the Polo Field Aug. 15. Paisley put on the free concert to show his appreciation for service members' sacrifice.

The last time Paisley came to Fort Sill was July 4, 2003, when he was on the Army Concert Tour with Hal Ketchum. According to Brenda Spencer-Ragland, Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation director, more than 15,000 people attended.

Paisley has been named entertainer of the year, and it was obvious during the concert why he was given the title. Several audience members were lucky enough to get autographs, a signed guitar, and cellphone video by Paisley, all while he maintained his rhythm on guitar.

Shelby Crow is also a repeat performer as she sang the national anthem to open for Paisley as well as Alan Jackson, in June.

The 77th Army Band warmed up the crowd before Paisley crossed the stage with "Red Solo Cup," "Keep Me in Mind" and "Oklahoma Breakdown." Air Force Reserve Generation Band jammed the keytar getting the audience off their feet, then slowed it down with Adele's "Turning Tables."

Paisley played his big hits like "Camouflage," "Mud on the Tires," "Ticks," "I'm Still a Guy," and "Celebrity."
