Thirteen Soldiers from the Natick Soldier Systems Center took part in the "Freedom Trail" event May 5 at the Longfellow Sports Club in Natick.

The event, which raised $700 for the Wounded Warrior Project, covered approximately 1.5 miles and featured an uphill ruck sack race with 35-pound packs, along with tire flips, low crawls, buck carry, shuttle run, and an overhead rifle carry.

Freedom Trail was the third event of a quarterly adventure race series held at the club to raise funds for various causes.

NSSC participants, with finish times, included: Pvt. 2 Gregory Holgate, 17 minutes, 37 seconds; Pvt. 2 Lee Woodard, 18 minutes, 23 seconds; Pvt. 2 Justin Renner, 18 minutes, 46 seconds; Pvt. 2 Daniel Lopez-Miramontes, 19 minutes, 1 second; Pvt. 2 Wesley Wilson, 19 minutes, 6 seconds; Pvt. 2 William Ford, 19 minutes, 35 seconds; Sgt. 1st Class Adam Adams, 19 minutes, 40 seconds; Pvt. 2 Michael Coulter, 19 minutes, 44 seconds; Pvt. 2 Gregory McKandall, 20 minutes, 12 seconds; Pvt. 2 Ryan Barcelona, 22 minutes, 25 seconds; Pvt. 2 Steven Mitchell, 23 minutes, 13 seconds; Brig. Gen. John McGuiness, 25 minutes, 24 seconds; and Staff Sgt. Sharalis Canales, 26 minutes, 57 seconds.
