ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. -- Maj. Gen. Patricia McQuistion, Army Sustainment Command's commanding general, delivered the keynote address at the 2011 Combined Federal Campaign awards luncheon held Jan. 12 at the Arsenal Club.

"Even though … we had kind of a monetary goal based on what we had done in the past, that's not what is important," McQuistion said. "What's important is we are going to turn over a check today for $678, 418. That's an incredible amount of good that can be done to help international organizations, national organizations and, probably most dear to our hearts, local organizations in so many different ways."

Before her speech, Pat Behr, Rock Island Arsenal fire inspector and Combined Federal Campaign chairman, announced McQuistion was named honorary chair for this year's fund drive.

The annual campaign raises money by hosting chili cook-offs, silent auctions and selling cookbooks, among other things. The luncheon provides the opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations that have had a major impact on the year's campaign.
