With only 11 months of contracting experience, Staff Sgt. Michael G. France, 408th Contracting Support Brigade, has become an integral part of the 641st Contingency Contracting Team, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
He has already prepared more than 30 purchase, request and commitment actions valued at more than $5.5 million.
"Getting to see the direct impact of what we do to support the warfighter is great. Knowing that what we do directly impacts the success of their mission gives me a great sense of pride," France said.
Prior to becoming a 51C, acquisitions, logistics and technology contracting noncommissioned officer, France was a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He is
currently completing his bachelor's degree in business administration.
France took the lead working directly with the U.S. Army Central Command G7, Training, exercise group in developing and executing the contracting needs of the various exercises conducted in the ARCENT area of operation. He executed contracts for Steppe Eagle 2011 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and for Inferno Creek 2012 in Salalah, Oman, and is working on the requirements develop¬ment for Earnest Leader 2012 in Saudi Arabia and Steppe Eagle 2012.
France was tasked to create the first construction contract for Regional Contracting Command-Kuwait for a medical response center in Amman, Jordan.
