An avid cyclist, Wolfgang Ringer has a real a zest for life.

Ringer is a contracting specialist with the 409th Contracting Support Brigade and works at the Regional Contracting Office in Grafenwoehr, Germany. He is as enthusiastic about contracting as he is about biking.

The German local national hails from Hohenfels, Germany, and has more than 30 years of contracting experience.

He attributes this longevity with the job to loving what he does to support the Soldier.

Ringer works on many service-based contracts and is also responsible for training National Guard units that rotate through the Hohenfels Training Area in support of contingency operations in the Balkans.

"I've trained a lot of Soldiers and I love it when a Soldier is especially enthusiastic to learn," he said.

According to his peers, this enthusiasm is apparent when he comes to work each day.

"Wolfgang is always willing to help," said Staff Sgt. Patty Troutman, contracting noncommissioned officer, 675th Contingency Contracting Team. "His enthusiasm permeates the office."

In addition to loving his work and his enthusiasm for biking, Ringer says he enjoys the company of his wife of 32 years.
