BAGHDAD, Iraq- Eight Iraqi Diwaniyah Directorate of Border Enforcement instructors graduated from a combat life saver class Aug. 30 at Camp Echo.
The course, conducted by the DBE 5th Region's Training Command and in partnership with its United States Forces-Iraq Stability Transition Team counterpart, was designed to equip Diwaniyah DBE Regional Training Center instructors with necessary skills to teach life-saving techniques to other border enforcement personnel.
USF-I medical personnel challenged these instructor-students with courses that included first responder and combat life-saving tactics, techniques and procedures. The students also participated in several practical exercises with scenarios that required them to stabilize and prepare patients for transport to a medical facility.
"You now have skills that will help you assist other DBE Shurta to better complete their mission of providing security to Iraq," said Iraqi Lt. Moshan Abd, the dean of the Diwaniyah DBE Regional Training center.
Diwaniyah DBE Training Center is a regional training center that provides in-service advanced training for border enforcement personnel assigned to the 5th Region.
