FORT RUCKER, Ala. -- The Fort Rucker Post Exchange kicked off the Army and Air Force Exchange Service's 115th anniversary with a free showing of McClelland's Critters July 15.

The PX mall was decorated in a jungle safari theme befitting the critter's show presented by Mike McClelland, from Banks, Ala.

The event included live entertainment, face painting, shaved ice snow cones, carnival-style popcorn, hot food, ice cold drinks and prize giveaways.

McClelland's Critters featured an outdoor petting zoo and an indoor show. The petting zoo consisted of a miniature horse, a donkey, as well as some sheep. Indoor amusement included an array of snakes and other reptiles.

Students from the Fort Rucker Child Development Center enjoyed the animal-themed atmosphere and the "critter" goodies they took home with them. They were also treated to face painting by "Daisy the Clown."

"It was great to see all the children enjoying themselves so much at the Critters event," said Susie Antonello, AAFES visual merchandiser and public affairs representative. "One of our goals at AAFES is to build a lifelong emotional connection with our customers and I'm glad we were able to do that with this event."
