Program Manager of the Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program Brig. Gen. Paul Laughlin (right) was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal, Saudi Arabia's highest award for foreign military servicemen March 15. The medal was presented in Riyadh by His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, the minister of the Saudi Arabian National Guard, on behalf of King Salman bin Abdulaziz. The medal demonstrates the great esteem the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has for the Office of the Program Manager-Saudi Arabian National Guard (OPM-SANG). Laughlin said he was humbled by the recognition and gave credit for the recognition to the OPM-SANG workforce. "I very much appreciate his Royal Highness for allowing our colonels and senior civilians to be present, as they do the real work and this award is a reflection of their efforts," Laughlin said. OPM-SANG advises, assists, trains and manages the foreign military sales investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's National Guard modernization effort. OPM-SANG is a subordinate organization of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command.
