This past summer they trained vigorously with the most professional and experienced members of Fort Polk's Joint Readiness Training Center who prepared them to take responsibility from the battalions of 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division "Rakkasans."

Patriots Soldiers stood tall, steady and confident as they watched their command teams uncase their unit flags symbolizing their readiness to take on the enduring efforts of US commitment for a stable, secure and unified Afghanistan.

Task Force Wild Boar, 2-30th Infantry Regiment, command team, Lt. Col. Brandon Teague and Command Sgt Maj. Alvaro Pertuz assumed responsibility of Tactical Base Gamberi from Task Force Leader on Oct 2, 2015.

"The mission that the Wild Boar battalion is assuming is of strategic importance to the country of Afghanistan and the United States and we will continue the outstanding legacy that the Rakkasans are leaving behind," said Teague.

The Patriot Soldiers bring their professionalism and invaluable expertise to the Afghan forces and people of Afghanistan. The Advisors will go out daily to meet with their Afghan partners, but they are not alone. The 2-30th Wild Boar are heavily guarded under the watchful eye of the carefully selected highly trained Guardian Angels.

Two days later, Task Force Slugger, 3-89 Cavalry Squadron, command team, Lt. Col. Gregg Haley and Command Sgt Maj. Antonio Leja assumed command of Operating Base Fenty from Task Force War.

TF Slugger has the distinguished duty of not only running day to day operations of Operating Base Fenty they are also responsible for defending and protecting its residents.

"This is my fifth deployment and without a doubt this is the best unit ever followed into theater. It's our turn to mount up and get on with this mission," remarked Haley.

With all battalion level missions successfully handed off, the Soldiers of 10th Mountain Division are more than ready to continue the legacy of Resolute Support.

"I wish you and TF War a safe return and a great reintegration. Your mission here is complete!" said Haley.
