GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany -- (June 19, 2014) -- Chief Warrant Officer James Maina, from Nairobi, Kenya, who is the chief of logistics for the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, and Spec. Christopher Green, from Brooklyn, N.Y., who is a graphic illustrator with the Marshall Center's Visual Information Division, participate in the traditional cutting of the cake by the oldest and youngest soldiers present at the Marshall Center's 240th U.S. Army Birthday Ceremony held June 18 here.

The mission of the Marshall Center, as a vital instrument of German-American cooperation, is to create a more stable security environment by advancing democratic institutions and relationships; promoting active, peaceful, whole-of-government approaches to address transnational and regional security challenges; and creating and enhancing enduring partnerships worldwide.
